Sometimes our phone lines are busier than usual, we appreciate your patience as we get to your call.

General practitioner appointments

We encourage all patients to register with a specific doctor who will be their primary provider, supporting continuity and a trusted relationship in your healthcare journey.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. Each appointment is 15 minutes long, with 12 patients seen per session, with dedicated time set aside for paperwork and clinical review to ensure quality care.

Supporting Future GPs
Across our four practices, we host 2–4 General Practice Education Programme (GPEP) doctors at any one time across our four practices. This is how doctors who trained in New Zealand study to become a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. This study also awards them vocational registration in the scope of general practice from the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).

Urgent care

Located at our Westown practice at 99 Tukapa Street, the Carefirst Group Urgent Care Clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.

Whether you’re enrolled with one of our four Carefirst practices or simply part of the wider community, everyone is welcome to access our Urgent Care services. You’ll always be seen by a doctor, and if you’re an enrolled Carefirst patient, you’ll have the added benefit of reduced Urgent Care fees.

For added convenience, we offer onsite x-ray services—with no ACC surcharges, helping you get timely care without unexpected costs.

If it’s an emergency and you or someone else needs immediate medical attention, call 111 straight away.

Travel clinic

Heading overseas? Wherever your travels may take you, be prepared when it comes to your health before, during, and after your trip, by booking an appointment with the Carefirst Travel Clinic.

We offer a range of support for you and your whānau, including any vaccinations, medications and other health advice you might need before you depart. Click here for more information.

Appointment changes and cancellations

We understand that plans can change. If you’re unable to attend your appointment, please let us know as early as possible so we can offer the time to someone else. If you cancel within an hour of your appointment or don’t let us know, you’ll still be charged for the booked time, as we’re unable to reallocate it at short notice.
